Nigel Williams, Managing Director and Owner

Nigel Williams first supplied cars to clergy and teachers in church schools in September 1997, three years before starting Newgate. His pioneering motoring scheme was developed for Priests of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool, but this proved so successful that enquiries from neighbouring Anglican and Roman Catholic dioceses began flooding in. In 2000, Nigel started Newgate to meet this demand for clear, hassle-free car finance for clergy.

The Newgate Difference

Newgate negotiates special discounts for clergy direct with selected motor manufacturers, far in excess of what an individual buyer could get from a High Street car dealer. These discounts are paired with tailored finance arrangements, giving clergy access to no-deposit deals with low monthly payments. Newgate handle all the arrangements from sourcing a car to setting up the finance agreement. It's perfectly possible to get a car from Newgate without ever setting foot in a showroom. We will even organise delivery straight to your door!

Newgate knows that getting a new car can often be an opaque ordeal for members of the clergy, dealing with ill-informed salesmen and one size fits all finance deals. We have replaced this with a simple, transparent, jargon-free, telephone (or email)-based process, leaving busy members of the clergy to get on with the work that matters to them.
